It’s simple: we work hard, we back each other, and we make sure to have a laugh along the way. That’s the Oxcon way.

Tennis at Oxcon

Tennis is serious business around here.

We run the Oxcon Tennis League at the office – weekly doubles, rotating partners, and a running tally towards the Golden Racket Trophy.

You don’t have to be good at tennis, but you do have to turn up, have a crack, and bring your best banter.

Post-match beers at the Oxagon are part of the deal, and when the sun’s out, the pool’s there for a cool-off.

Then there’s the Oxcon Invitational. Our annual tournament, where the whole team gets involved. It’s a full day of fast games, loud banter, and plenty of laughs, with prizes for winners, best dressed, and whoever brings the most enthusiasm (or the best excuse).

Community & recognition

We take pride in the work we do, but it’s not just about the projects, it’s about the people, the places, and the legacy we leave behind.

Sustainable Coastlines Coastal Clean-Ups: From beaches to boardwalks, we roll up our sleeves and pitch in to protect the environments we live in.

Planting Days: Supporting local councils and community groups, we help restore native ecosystems and enhance public spaces.

Numeracy and Literacy Programme: Delivering initiatives that boost learning and opportunity for young people. We are all about helping to break through glass ceilings and enabling people to be their best.

Health and Safety Awards: Celebrating the people who keep us safe, every day. CCNZ National Award for Glen Innes to Tamaki Drive Shared Path – Section 2: Recognised for innovation, quality, and delivery on a complex, high-profile project.

Kick-Arse Award: Our internal shout-out for team members who go above and beyond. It’s not just a pat on the back, it’s a genuine appreciation for those who make a difference, big or small.

Team time

We take our work seriously, but we know the best projects happen when there’s a bit of fun along the way. That’s why we make time to catch up, celebrate wins, and share a laugh.

Every two months, we get the whole team together for an evening at the Oxagon – dinner, drinks, and a guest speaker with something interesting to say.

Our annual Christmas party is a big one. Partners come along, the whole team’s there, and we make a proper night of it with food, drinks, and good company.

We also host an annual client event, bringing our clients and supply chain partners together to say thanks, share a few stories, and build stronger connections over good food and drinks.

And when the rugby’s on, we make sure there’s a spot for everyone to watch the game together.

It’s about taking time to step back, enjoy the company, and remind ourselves that we’re a team.
