Oxcon is delivering three new station access bridges at Glen Innes, Takanini, and Te Mahia as part of Auckland Transport’s Pedestrian Level Crossing (PedLX) Tranche 2 programme. The works strengthen safety, accessibility, and network performance across Auckland’s rail system, providing fully accessible bridge connections between surrounding streets, station platforms, bus facilities, and shared paths. Started with an Early Contractor Involvement phase in which Oxcon worked closely with Auckland Transport, Beca and KiwiRail to shape the delivery methodology, refine staging, plan temporary works, and integrate the bridges into complex live rail and road environments. Construction is now underway across all three stations, with piling, substructures and approach works progressing concurrently.
