Oxcon was the Main Contractor for the Hobsonville Marine Recreational Centre, delivering a marine platform, jetty, and floating pontoon to support the Hobsonville Yacht Club and Westlake Boys’ High School Rowing Club. The project consists of two separable portions: SP1 – a 250m² platform with hardwood decking and 750mm bored reinforced concrete piles, and SP2 – a 46m-long jetty, floating pontoon, and 24m gangway.

Key challenges included working within the Coastal Marine Area, tight site access, and precise tolerances for piling and precast installation. We developed an amphibious piling rig, eliminating the need for extensive temporary works, reducing environmental impact, and improving programme efficiency. The project's delivery strategy was refined to minimise disruption, using prefabrication and careful sequencing. Complex heavy crane lifts were managed within the constrained site, ensuring seamless integration of precast beams and marine structures.
