The site presented significant challenges, including high groundwater levels, constrained access, and strict environmental controls associated with the closed landfill setting. Construction was carefully sequenced to manage landfill gas risks, avoid service conflicts, and maintain isolation from adjacent active works. Drilling and piling activities were particularly demanding due to wet ground conditions, requiring modified methodology and tight coordination.
Oxcon self-performed all piling and structural works, completing the project ahead of programme and on budget. The outcome reflects strong collaboration with Auckland Council’s Closed Landfill team and successful delivery in a sensitive and technically complex environment.
