The works included 1,100m³ cut-to-waste, installing 22 × 400mm timber piles with 7m rock sockets, 11 ground anchors to 15m tied into a 300PFC waler, and constructing a reinforced soil slope using 650m³ of GAP65. To address the originally specified uncontained front face, we proposed Cirtex Duramesh to provide a contained, durable façade to the RSE, improving performance and finish quality.
Challenging ground conditions produced high groundwater and grout loss during piling and anchor grouting. The team mitigated these conditions with method tweaks and sequencing while reducing cut volumes below the carriageway to maintain access for residents and emergency services. The outcome is a robust, low-maintenance solution delivered safely, efficiently, and with strong positive feedback from the client.
