Following the Auckland Anniversary Weekend floods in 2023, we were engaged to remediate a failed steel post retaining wall at King’s School. The works involved the removal of 4,500m³ of earth, installation of new piling, concrete walers, and ground anchors, and extensive drainage upgrades to manage the large catchment area draining onto the field. We stabilised and reused the excavated material to restore the field to its original level.

We also constructed a new timber retaining wall on the south side of the field, increasing usable space for students and staff. Key challenges include working in close proximity to a Significant Ecological Area, space constraints, and executing the project within an active school environment.
