Works included the installation of a new 18 m-long single-span glulam timber bridge, with 855 mm-deep glulam beams weighing up to 1.4 tonnes each. The balustrade comprises prefabricated steel infill panels by GSM, fixed between timber posts. Approximately 20 m of new concrete footpath was constructed to bring the existing track up to the new bridge height.
The new bridge was fully prefabricated off-site and installed in a single lift using a 90 t mobile crane. This approach minimised on-site construction time and community disruption. The bridge is now open, restoring a valued recreational connection for the Huntly community.
