The Jubilee Bridge Replacement is a 60m-long, 10m-tall steel and concrete network arch bridge, replacing the original 1986 timber arch bridge over the Panmure Basin. We delivered the complex pre-assembly, transport, and installation, which required a 600T crane, one of the largest in New Zealand to lift the 56-tonne structure into place.

Prior to the bridge landing, extensive soil nailing and slope stabilisation works were completed.

The bridge’s abutments are founded on 30m deep, 1m diameter reinforced concrete piles.

This project garnered immense community support, with crowds gathering before dawn to witness the historic bridge lift, cheering as it was successfully placed. The installation resulted from detailed planning, including 3D modelling of transport routes and exact crane coordination. Executed over a two-day operation, the lift required a 300T and 400T crane for initial transport, followed by the 600T crane for final placement.
