We deliver critical infrastructure projects that meet the demands of New Zealandās growing communities and industries. Our experience spans a range of challenging structures, including multi-span bridges, underpasses, and retaining systems.
Projects such as the Parnell Station Underpass and SH39 Mangaotama Bridge Replacement highlight our ability to address complex engineering challenges, including tight timelines, constrained environments, and demanding specifications. By combining technical expertise with precise planning, we ensure safe, reliable, and enduring solutions that enhance connectivity and infrastructure resilience.
Open space / cycleways & footpaths
We construct thoughtfully designed spaces that promote active transport and community connectivity. Our work includes creating durable, accessible cycleways and footpaths that balance functionality with environmental care.
The Glen Innes to TÄmaki Drive Shared Path is an award-winning project that combines elevated timber boardwalks with AT-grade pathways, navigating sensitive ecological areas with care. This project demonstrates our ability to integrate infrastructure into natural landscapes while maintaining high safety and usability standards and providing long-lasting benefits for communities, fostering sustainable lifestyles and enhanced mobility.
Marine
We design and construct durable and functional marine infrastructure, including platforms, jetties, pontoons, and retaining walls to meet the challenges of coastal and water environments. Each project is tailored to withstand harsh conditions while minimising environmental impact.
The Hobsonville Marine Recreation Centre highlights our expertise in marine construction. It features a 1,800m²elevated platform, a 46m jetty, and a floating pontoon. This complex project required precise tidal management and advanced amphibious equipment to achieve outstanding results while protecting the surrounding environment.
Our marine solutions support recreational and commercial use, enhance coastal resilience, while blending seamlessly with natural surroundings.
Roading
We deliver projects that enhance connectivity and meet the demands of growing communities. From intricate intersection upgrades to extensive highway developments, every project is designed with a focus on safety, functionality and long-term performance.
The SH1 Loop Road Upgrade demonstrates our ability to handle large-scale challenges, including complex earthworks, advanced paving systems, and comprehensive flood mitigation measures. By ensuring the road supports increasing freight traffic and withstands future environmental pressures, this project highlights our capability to deliver infrastructure that serves as a critical link for people and industries across the region while ensuring future resilience.
Rail
We design and deliver infrastructure that enhances rail networks with a focus on safety, efficiency, and seamless integration into existing systems. From bridges and underpasses to adjacent pathways, our projects support sustainable urban growth and improve connectivity.
The Glen Innes to TÄmaki Drive Shared Path highlights the challenges and the precision required for rail-adjacent construction. Working alongside KiwiRailās Eastern Line, the project required detailed planning to navigate complex geotechnical condition sand strict safety protocols while minimising disruption to rail operations and the environment.
Earthworks and foundations
Our earthworks and foundation solutions are tailored to meet the challenges of each project. From excavation and ground improvement to piling and drainage, our expertise ensures stable and durable foundations for diverse developments.
The Kingās School project demonstrates this capability. It included removing 4,500m³ of earth, installing new piling, concrete wallers, and ground anchors, and extensive drainage upgrades. Excavated material was stabilised and reused to restore the field to its original level.
Every earthworks and foundation project is executed with care and precision to ensure structures are built to last and meet the highest standards of safety and quality. Ā
Key projects
Pedestrian Level Crossing Station Access Bridges
Oxcon is delivering three new station access bridges at Glen Innes, Takanini, and Te Mahia as part of Auckland Transportās Pedestrian Level Crossing (PedLX) Tranche 2 programme. The works strengthen safety, accessibility, and network performance across Aucklandās rail system, providing fully accessible bridge connections between surrounding streets, station platforms, bus facilities, and shared paths. Started with an Early Contractor Involvement phase in which Oxcon worked closely with Auckland Transport, Beca and KiwiRail to shape the delivery methodology, refine staging, plan temporary works, and integrate the bridges into complex live rail and road environments. Construction is now underway across all three stations, with piling, substructures and approach works progressing concurrently.
