CRL STAGES 2 & 3

Oxcon has been involved with CRL Enabling Works since 2016; firstly, through the provision of the Pipe Jack Manager to the McConnell Dowell/Downer JV, responsible for managing the pipe jack component of the CRL2 Project.  Works involved pipe jacking a new 2m dia. stormwater line along Albert Street enabling the existing stormwater line to be removed as the CRL tunnel and Aotea Station works progressed. The Orakei Main Sewer was also lined with GRP at the Victoria/Albert Street intersection where it crosses below the new CRL tunnel.  This was completed in a live sewer environment with a bypass installed using a 1m dia TBM.

CRL Stage 3

Subsequently in late 2019 Oxcon were asked to provide piling resource to support enabling works for the Aotea Station excavation.  The CLL/Oxcon JV mobilised two piling crews at short notice and completed the installation of 240 no. UC piles inside nine weeks. The piles were used to form a temporary service trench to allow diversion of street level utilities which were obstructing the excavation for the Aotea Station.
